... saving the best of our past for our future ...

According to The National Trust for Historic Preservation, “When historic buildings and neighborhoods are torn down or allowed to deteriorate, a part of our past disappears forever. When that happens, we lose connections with history that help us know who we are, and we lose opportunities to live and work in the kinds of interesting, attractive, supportive surroundings that older buildings can provide.”

Rhonda has studied The History and Theory of Preservation in America, Historic Construction Methods, and Colonial History of the Cape Fear Region.  She will soon be certified in Historic Preservation.

Rhonda’s expertise is in historic rehabilitation.  The office of the secretary of the interior defines “rehabilitation” as “the act or process of returning a property to a state of utility through repair or alteration which makes possible an efficient contemporary use while preserving those portions or features of the property which are significant to its historical, architectural, and cultural values”.

Rhonda's experience in adaptive re-use, paired with her knowledge of tax credit implementation make her a valuable resource for investors and developers of historic properties.
